| Standing alone, in front of a grave, Vitalis had been thinking to himself about what his stone would look like. He crouched before it and closed his eyes, waving a hand over the stone slab. The information on it changed, the stone taking on a new shape. Where is once read 'Jhon Doherty Loving father and brother 1987-2012' it now read 'Vitalis 2013-2038'. He opened his eyes a moment later and let out a long sigh. "If I'm lucky enough to live that long..." He groaned internally and shook his head to himself. "Only those with people who care about them get this honour..." |

| "How is having a gravestone an honor, exactly? Is it not better to just live in honor?" I sit down on the morphed gravestone and stare at Vitalis. | |

| "It is an honour to be recognised after death, but if not by even these stones, whom would remember you once your body has turned to dust?" He raised an eyebrow, not showing the slightest amount of shock at the male appearing from nowhere and sitting on a grave.

| "The earth itself will remember. Always." Being a male, I raised an eyebrow myself. | |

| "The earth forgets everything, in time. Stone remains. While memories fade." He wiped a hand over the stone again and returned it to it's original print, pushed himself from the floor then turned. "Memories are fragile, even for the earth." |

| "Then what do you suggest? Stone itself is eroded, in time." I walk up beside Vitalis, looking toward him in focused curiosity. | |

| He shrugged a small amount. "Nothing, there is nothing that could be done for me." |

| "Only because you won't do anything for yourself. That's what I'm getting." I stare at him again. | |

| "Do not pretend to know me." He said, turning his head to look over his shoulder. "I am different to you in ways your mind could not possibly comprehend." |

| "Try me." I say, jerking my chin up in acknowledgement to his statement. | |

| He let out a soft sigh then held out his hand for a moment. Just an inch above his hand, a shape began to form, a material similar to metal, only much more durable, and with a much more potent edge. It took on the form of a bastard sword, with ornate carvings around the edge. "A few moments ago, those molecules were nothing but a cluster of oxygen, carbon dioxide, neon, xenon, and argon. Not they form a new metal, not indigenous to this planet, that had a boiling point of over two billion Celsius, and a at it's current durability, it could survive a ten thousand metric tons per millimetre square without breaking or bending." |

| "Bastard sword? Good choice. What makes you able to do that, then?" I watch him with a renewed curiosity. | |

| "Like I said. Ways you possibly could not comprehend." He turned and slashed at the air between them, a loud 'whooshing' sound emanating from the rip in the air as the blade sliced through it. "I could explain it, but the explanations that were downloaded are hard to decipher and I could end up giving all seven different reasoning in one, which makes them rather hard to understand." |

| "Understandable, I suppose. What are you doing sulking around here, anyway? There's not really anything interesting." I look up at the sky, wondering why this guy is so irritatingly complex about a simple enough question. Science. Science is so over-complicated. | |

| "Thinking about the future, and the past three months." He said, turning on his heel again and running a hand over the blade, turning it to ash as he did so. "And you?" |

| "Just...walking. I guess. Why does it matter?" I stop and watch the ash as a breeze carries it off. | |

| "I could ask you the same thing." He muttered, closing his eyes and focusing his minds eye at him, attempting to see into his mind. He was, in part, curious about what he was, but at the same time Vitalis was looking specifically for who. Was he part of that organisation? |

| I just stare off again. I'm just an unwanted dragon. Why would anyone want to talk to me, anyway? Not even my mother... | |

| He nodded slowly at the male. "I'm late home. I should leave." Vitalis pushed his foot into the floor and turned, content that the male was not after him, and began walking. His problems were his to deal with and he would not meddle in his affairs. |

| I watch him slowly walk off. I sit down under a dead, twisted tree. He will come back when he's ready to talk, and I'll be waiting. | |

| He kept walking, not looking back. Well, his problems. I'll let him sort them out. He thought to himself. He had no intention of returning. Not any time soon, anyway. |
