~Escaping~

You shouldn't. She thought silently.

"Your thoughts are quite loud, you know." Shadio said, with a small smirk.

"You should stay out of peoples heads." Vixen threw her shields up and hoped it was enough to keep him out.

"It's not like I intentionally do it..." He said sadly. "Did you wonder why I keep a bottle of medicine on me?" Shadio asked, pained look on his face.

"I figured it was your business. Not mine." She walked up the steps to her apartment and opened the door. "Want to come in for some hot chocolate? It is cold outside."

Shadio nods. "I'd love to." Thinking to himself, Maybe she'll let me explain about the medicine...

Vixen unlocked the door and nudged it open. "It's not much." As she walked in you could see that it was one bedroom with a small bath, the living room was pretty big and had a couch along with a bookshelf and a TV with a DVD player and a game system. The kitchen was clean other than a few dishes in the sink from the night before. It wasn't much but she called it home.

"Wow..." Shadio said in awe. "I like it. It's more than I've ever had..." He said softly and quietly.

"It's less than I should have. The higher ups want me in a mansion. I refused." Vixen walked into the kitchen and grabbed two mugs. "Make yourself at home."

Shadio sits down on the couch. "Why did you refuse?" He asked. "I'd take a mansion in a heart beat... I've never had a house, actually." He said as a follow-up. I've never had a home... Shadio thought.

"I didn't want it. Just because I'm a goddess doesn't mean they can make me live the life of one." She filled the mugs of hot cocoa and brought them back to the living room.

"I see." He said, nodding reassuringly. "Thank you." Shadio said as he takes a mug.

Vixen nodded and sat on the floor, not really feeling like sitting on the couch.

"Is everything alright?" Shadio asked, taking a sip.

"Nothing that won't be alright..." She stared at her cup.

"Do you wish to talk about it?" He asked again

She just shook her head.

Shadio looked over to her and decided to not say anymore and just drink what she had brought him.

"You should probably go. I just want to be alone now.!

"That's what you wish. Then so be it." Shadio nodded sadly and got up to leave. "Sorry for bugging you, Ms. Vixen."

She nodded and stared at her cup as he left

He set a piece of paper down on the table as he walked out the door. "Time, freeze."

Vixen picked up the paper and crumpled it

"I'll have to say, for someone I might never see or talk to again, I hope I do." Shadio sighed, staring into the darkness of space. "She seemed pretty cool." He begins to walk.
